My Batpole by corysmithart My Batpole by corysmithart
Yes, I actually have a fireman's pole in my townhome...22' of stainless steel goodness. We added on to the loft just so I could have a pole...and yes, I slide down just about every morning. Saves wear and tear on the stairs. :) We tore out all of the oak railings and installed 2 1/2" tubular steel ones instead. That one railing is 15' long and weighs 960 lbs. it took 6 guys just to get the bastard in my house...and a winch to pull it up to the 2nd floor. It's up there with 32-6" lag bolts and 16-4" lags

Okay, I want to be mature 'bout this one... but STRIPPER POLE ... just felt like putting that there ;) But wow, definitely quite an interesting addition to a home :) I love it! Definitely took a lot of work to do that, eh? You put a fireman's pole in there, imagine what other creative work you have done to your home :O!

Are any of your boys budding artists themselves?

all of em!!! and they are all better at their ages than I was at that age! My oldest, Logan plays the guitar and draws, Mason plays the piano and paints and Vaughn, he just draws.

That's awesome!! Imagine if we had artists as parents? I have one 4-year-old daughter but we just do craft together. I used to teach kindergarten about 4 years ago so those skills come in handy with my little one. Artistically speaking I'm not pushing anything on my little one. But our home is filled with all kinds of originals (Loomis, Ross, Watkiss, Holdaway, Toppi etc.) to get her inspired. Drawing will be very important though. I believe we all can benefit from having the ability to express ourselves visually. Whether she chooses it as a career will be up to her!
